Many kids (and adults) find it challenging to understand the complexities of English spelling patterns. They can become easily frustrated when attempting to convey their ideas, and their writing may be limited to only using words they know how to spell. If you see “hoping” for “hopping” and ‘peopl, peeple, or peopl’ for “people” when looking over homework assignments, this is the webinar for you!
During her presentation, Executive Director, Jennifer Hasser, M.Ed., will discuss why many struggle with spelling and outline effective strategies for spelling instruction, therefore reducing the need for rote memorization. With these strategies, you can make spelling makes sense!
Parents and educators will come away from this presentation with a better understanding of why spelling errors occur and how to fix them. Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance after the webinar to submit for CEUs to IMSLEC, IDA, ALTA and more.
