Conestee Nature Preserve is partnering with ReWa to offer an educational and fun exploration of water quality in the Saluda/Reedy Watershed. This three day long day camp is open to family groups that are excited to learn together about how water quality is assessed in the field as well as in the ReWa laboratory! The staff at CNP will lead you in activities to enhance your scientific observation skills and take you to three different places in our watershed to sample water quality.

Who?

The activities and content are best for ages 8 and up. Family groups will work together during activities. You decide who your family group contains. All participants will be responsible for their own transportation to and from various field trip locations.

When?

September 29-October 1, 2021

8:30am-4:30pm daily (times may vary)

Where?

Base camp will be Conestee Nature Preserve. You will be traveling to Falls Park, the North Saluda, and ReWa as well.

How Much?

Cost is $25/person

• Families are responsible for bringing their own snacks and lunch. All activity materials will be included.
• All families will go home with their very own water quality sampling kit

• 9:00-12:00 Data Collection
• 12:00-1:00 Lunch
• 1:00-2:00 Concluding Activities
• 2:00-4:00 Optional hike and waterfall play at Wildcat Wayside

If you register to attend this event we need you to complete this Google Form prior to the start date.

HEALTH AND SAFETY – COVID Policy

A majority of this event will take place entirely outside where the spread of COVID is greatly diminished. We will make every effort to allow for distance between participants. Times when we are in close proximity will be kept to less than 15 minutes. Masks are encouraged at all times and may be required at some of the indoor destinations.

WEATHER

We will NOT cancel this event unless there is a threat of severe weather. Plan to participate in the rain or shine. Some activities or times may be changed in order to avoid the rain. Refunds will be issued if the entire event is cancelled.
