Richland/Lexington Recycle Event

Recycling Drop-Off Event

Residents of Richland and Lexington counties can bring recyclable materials to a drop-off event Oct. 3 at Irmo High School.

The event will be at 6671 St. Andrews Road, Columbia. The square parking lot at Wescott and St. Andrews roads will be used for collection.

Items collected will include:

• electronics (8 items/car)
• tires (8/car)
• paint (8 gallons/car)
• paper for shredding (5 boxes/car)
• pesticides
• scrap metal (no refrigerators, freezers, AC units)
• cooking oil
• household hazardous waste

Household goods donated for reuse will also be accepted. Material generated by businesses is not accepted.

Residents are asked to stay in their vehicles during the event. Volunteers and employees will unload items from vehicles as residents stop at various drop-off stations.
