Build a small projector to project constellations on the wall\, create a model to demonstrate moon phases\, and encode a message to say hello to possible aliens living in a whole other solar system. There’s a lot to explore in our little cosmic neighborhood\, so let’s go see what’s out there!  \n\n\n\nBeep. Bop. Boop!  \nJune 10 – 14 | July 22 – 26   \n\n\n01001000 01001001 – that means “Hi” in binary! In this camp\, your little ones will use 8 different robots in order to discover what it means to be a roboticist. From coding with colors with Ozobot Evo and Sphero Indi to block coding challenges with Dash and Dot – we’ll enter a world beyond the binary! Campers will also have a chance to explore LEGO Essentials to create their own robotic masterpieces.  \n\n\n\n\n\nClassical Fantastical Creations  \nJune 17 –  21 | July 29 – Aug. 2   \n\n\nCome with us on a magical journey as we discover timeless classics and new adventures. We will read ten different books in this camp and do an activity inspired by each one. Campers will test their engineering skills as they build houses to withstand the wind of a big bad wolf\, work with mixed media as they create works of art through collage with the Very Hungry Caterpillar\, and they’ll even create their own slithering dragons as we discover what Dragon Post is!   \n\n\n\nSense-ational Art  \nJune 24 – 28 | Aug. 5 – 9 \n\n\nHow does art impact our senses? And do our senses impact art? We’ll explore different mediums from traditional painting to music as campers explore their emotions. We’ll start the week connecting emotions to music with paint\, create adaptive tactile art\, and trick our sense of sight as we explore illusions and play with found imagery. Can you sense the excitement? We sure can!  \nPlease note: This camp does include tasting and eating different foods including: marshmallows\, potato chips\, cheese puffs\, caramel popcorn\, Magic Spoon Frosted cereal\, and even litmus paper taste tests. Please let us know ahead of time if you have any allergies to any of these materials. \n\n\n\nGirls Can Do It! \nJuly 8 – 12   \n\n\n\n\nAnd so can you! There are some amazing women in our history and we’re here to learn all about them! Have you ever heard of Althea Gibson? Or Gladys West and Heddy Lamar? What about Bessie Coleman\, Mae Jemison\, or Ellen Ochoa? In this camp we’ll be creating STEAM projects based on some of our most notable women in history. From testing our own flight paths to creating mini-circuits\, we’ll honor each of these women in history with projects of our very own. We got this!   \n\n\n9-12 year olds:\n\n\nInventive History \nJune 3 – 7 | July 15 – 19   \n\n\nDo you know who created the super soaker? Or how Labyrinths were made? Who invented the doughnut anyway? In this camp we’ll travel back in time\, recreating some of history’s most famous experiments and inventions. Campers will learn to tinker and become makers as they work to invent something new. How inventive will you be? And what can you create?    \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Art of History  \nJune 10 – 14 | July 22 – 26   \n\n\nArt isn’t just in galleries—it’s all around us! Campers will learn the ins and outs of how art and history go hand in hand. They’ll create their own Dave pots inspired jug\, “capture” some history through the lens of a camera\, and even discover the unconventional use of art for everyday objects like furniture and silverware. Plus\, campers will learn techniques from artists like Yayoi Kusama and Kristy Bishop. This summer’s a blank canvas—come fill it up!  \n\n\n\nRevin’ Up Our RAM  \nJune 17 – 21 | July 29 – Aug. 2   \n\n\nCome with us and take deep dive into coding robots! Your campers will explore the foundations of coding with Dash and Cue\, use their programming skills to guide Spero Bolt through an obstacle course\, and merge coding with engineering with Lego SPIKE Prime. Alright Roboticists\, let’s get revved up and ready to go!  \n\n\n\nJourney Through the Stars  \nJune 24 – 28 | Aug. 5 – 9   \n\n\n\n\nEmbark on a journey to learn about more than just the stars! Start here on Earth and harness the power of the Sun to make a tasty treat. Afterwards venture farther out to learn about how astronauts live in space and create a water filtration system. Then launch into the vast universe beyond\, mapping out the intricate patterns made by Jupiter’s moons as they orbit the gas giant and helping to balance a pair of stars in a binary star system.  \n\n\n\n“Tink” Outside the Box  \nJuly 8 – 12    \nGet ready to get tinkering and think outside the box!  Make connections as you squish your way through circuits and explore conductive dough.  Once you learn about anodes and cathodes\, you’ll have all the tools you need to leave your mark with the museum’s much-loved ScribblyBattleyDoodleyBot-O-Awesome.  The pressure is on to build a fully-functioning hydraulic bridge and release your tinkering potential to solve a problem – Rube Goldberg style.
