The club is free to join\, and participants will meet virtually on Monday afternoons from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. beginning on September 13\, 2021. The club will run throughout the 2021-2022 school year with the last meeting scheduled for May 30\, 2022. \n  \nGirls Who Code Club is meant for girls to join the sisterhood of supportive peers and role models and use Computer Science to change the world. The middle and high-school Clubs encourage students to impact their communities in a positive way through code. Club members will learn how to code from fun\, online tutorials and activities that will help them build animations\, games\, apps. \n  \nStudents of any coding-ability levels are encouraged to join IT-oLogy’s Girls Who Code Club. Please join us for live\, instructor-led virtual workshops to teach South Carolina boys in grades 6-12 the fundamentals of coding\, its history\, technology evolution\, cyber safety and cyber careers. \n\n\nStudents will learn to code\, program interactive stories\, create apps\, animations and games with engaging activities with Hour of Code™. Students will also be introduced to artificial intelligence and the basics of machine learning. Hour of Code™ on-demand resources will also help nurture problem-solving skills\, logic\, creativity\, and starts a foundation for success in any 21st-century career path. During IT-oLogy’s workshops\, students will explore HTML\, JavaScript\, Python and Scratch programming languages and most importantly\, have FUN coding! \nIT-oLogy’s Boys Who Code club is free to join and hosted virtually bi-weekly on Wednesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m beginning December 8\, 2021 and will run through May 2022. We want to take this time to say\n“Thank You” for choosing Stars and Strikes IRMO as your place to bowl. Bowling is the world’s largest\nparticipation sport and unlike so many other sports\, no one has to sit on the bench. The following rules are\nput in place to help make league bowling run smoothly. \nLeague Name: Home School\nDivisions are Bumpers & No Bumpers\nPRACTICE BEGINS AT 1:00pm\nlength: 10 minutes (scored bowling to begin afterwards)\nSCHEDULE (subject to change due to scheduled events at the bowling center)\nThe league will bowl a twelve (12) week schedule\, with a hosted special “Fun Day” at the end of each\nsession.\nThe Winter League will start on January 7th\, 2022 and end on March 25 th \, 2022. The Spring League\nwill start on April 8 th \, 2022 and end on June 24 th \, 2022. You’ll get a list of participants to exchange cards with–up to 25 familes to send/receive. We encourage personalized message or token item included for each child. Contact: AAHCEprograms@richlandlibrary.com. \n\nJoin us at Hyatt Park as we kickoff A Year of Black History celebrations with the honoring of the GULLAH GEECHEE culture! \n\nSee the beautiful artistry of sweetgrass baskets and Gullah artwork; learn the language; enjoy African drumming and dance; meet featured guests like Gullah Gullah Islands’ Mrs. Natalie Daise\, International Storyteller Aunt Pearlie Sue\, and The Black Cowboys of Rembert\, SC; visit the Richland Library craft area and much more. Take part in the community electric slide. \nTo preserve the uniqueness of the GULLAH GEECHEE culture\, The Honorable Congressman James E. Clyburn introduced The GULLAH GEECHEE Cultural Heritage Corridor to the US Congress and it was designated by the act of Congress in 2006. It is a celebrated culture of the descendants of enslaved Africans bought to SC\, NC\, GA\, and Florida\, from west and central Africa. \nFEATURED GUESTS\nMrs. Natalie Daise\, widely known for hosting with husband Ron\,  “Gullah Gullah Island\,” an American musical children’s television series celebrating the culture and language of enslaved Africans that was produced by and aired on Nick Jr\, Nickelodeon network. The Daises are passionate performers\, educators\, and storytellers of the preservation of the GULLAH GEECHEE culture and history.\nAunt Pearlie Sue is the creation of Anita Singleton-Prather\, a native of the Sea Islands of Beaufort\, South Carolina. Based on her grandmother\, Aunt Pearlie Sue’s character has entertained audiences with Gullah-flavored folktales for over 20 years from the schoolhouse to the White House and Africa. \nSee and experience the Black Cowboys of Rembert\, South Carolina. \n“Not many know that cattle ranching\, as lucrative frontier occupation\, first appeared in South Carolina lowcountry\, where the enslaved ancestors of the GULLAH GEECHEE people became America’s first “cowboys.” Gullah Museum\nSweetgrass basketry is recognized as the South Carolina State Handicraft. With roots from West Africa\, this skill was brought to the United States by slaves and used on plantations to winnow rice. These baskets are symbolic of the GULLAH GEECHEE culture. \nThis program is in partnership with the South Carolina Humanities Council and the Richland Library African-American History and Cultural Events Committee (AAHCE). \nRichland Library received a Growth Grant from South Carolina Humanities\, www.schumanities.org. We want to take this time to say\n“Thank You” for choosing Stars and Strikes IRMO as your place to bowl. Bowling is the world’s largest\nparticipation sport and unlike so many other sports\, no one has to sit on the bench. The following rules are\nput in place to help make league bowling run smoothly. \nLeague Name: Home School\nDivisions are Bumpers & No Bumpers\nPRACTICE BEGINS AT 1:00pm\nlength: 10 minutes (scored bowling to begin afterwards)\nSCHEDULE (subject to change due to scheduled events at the bowling center)\nThe league will bowl a twelve (12) week schedule\, with a hosted special “Fun Day” at the end of each\nsession.\nThe Winter League will start on January 7th\, 2022 and end on March 25 th \, 2022. The Spring League\nwill start on April 8 th \, 2022 and end on June 24 th \, 2022. The Fall League will start on September 23 rd \,\n2022 and end on December 16 th \, 2022.\nnote: League dates are subject to change due to other events taking place at the center.\nThe League will NOT bowl on the following dates: \nApril 15 th \, 2022 Easter Break\nNovember 24 th \, 2022 Thanksgiving Break \nMANAGEMENT\nThe Home School League is considered a “house league” at the Stars and Strikes IRMO location. There is\na possibility of there being certified USBC Coaches available during this league but is not guaranteed.\nThis league will not be sanctioned through the USBC in any way.\nFEES\nAre paid directly to the Stars and Strikes IRMO center and will be a straight-out fee of $5.00 per bowler\neach week. DESCRIPTION:Greater Inman Geotrail Challenge\nBy Cola City Homeschoolers\nSaturday\, February 12\,  10:00 am – 3:00\nAll Ages — Free\nThe “Greater Inman” geotrail is a series of geocaches hidden throughout Inman\, SC.  Some of the geocaches require the finders to solve a puzzle on site.  Anyone who proves that they have found at least 12 of the geocaches by drawing the secret images onto the passport earns a geocoin.  Because 3 of the caches have been archived\, we will receive 3 free spaces.\n\nDownload the form to keep track of your progress here:  http://sc-spartanburgcountyparksandrec.civicplus.com/DocumentCenter/View/151/Greater-Inman-Geotrail-PDF\n\n\nMeeting location:  Woodruff Library at 10 am. The Valentine’s party\, the social games\, and the build contest are open to ALL minecraft club players.
