The middle and high-school Clubs encourage students to impact their communities in a positive way through code. Club members will learn how to code from fun\, online tutorials and activities that will help them build animations\, games\, apps. \n  \nStudents of any coding-ability levels are encouraged to join IT-oLogy’s Girls Who Code Club. DESCRIPTION:Make-it-Take-it Holiday Ornament\nBy Cola City Homeschoolers\nThursday\, December 16 from 1-2:30 pm\nAll Ages — $1.50\nCome on out for a Make-It-Take-It project with Cola City Homeschoolers on Thursday\, December 16 from 1-2:30 pm at Seven Oaks Park at  200 Leisure Lane\, Columbia. There will also be a chance to visit with Santa! \nEach participant will be able to create 2 Holiday Ornaments with #6 Shrinky Dink plastic. Great for gifts or as a commemorative ornament to keep. All supplies included. \nThe project will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Come and go anytime. We will set up several project stations for participants to rotate out and make room for others. Please join us for live\, instructor-led virtual workshops to teach South Carolina boys in grades 6-12 the fundamentals of coding\, its history\, technology evolution\, cyber safety and cyber careers. \n\n\nStudents will learn to code\, program interactive stories\, create apps\, animations and games with engaging activities with Hour of Code™. We’ll learn about resources for identifying birds\, ways of supporting urban bird diversity and balance\, how to use binoculars\, and birding by ear. We’ll hope to see and hear woodpeckers\, titmice\, mockingbirds\, nuthatches\, sparrows\, cardinals\, hawks\, and wrens. \nPlease note that this is an outdoor program. \n\nIn case of inclement weather\, this program will be canceled. Club members will learn how to code from fun\, online tutorials and activities that will help them build animations\, games\, apps. \n  \nStudents of any coding-ability levels are encouraged to join IT-oLogy’s Girls Who Code Club. This free opportunity is open to all South Carolina girls in grades 6-12. \n

Here’s how you can participate (It’s FREE!): \n\nPrint out the “I Love My School Because” placard: Click HERE\nWrite out a reason why you love homeschooling in general or YOUR homeschool specifically\nTake picture of yourself with the placard sign\nEntry deadline: January 19 at midnight\n\nSubmit up to FIVE images\, including your promo photo and/or other candid shots of your school life.
