Please contact The Outdoor Learning Store for more information and registration: CLICK HERE \nThe Outdoor Learning Virtual Workshop Seasonal Series:\n \n\nRegistration is FREE and there will be plenty of draw prizes for attendees!\nAll registrants will receive a discount code to access outdoor learning resources when they register\nWorkshops are 60 minutes and will take place at 4pm Pacific / 7pm Eastern.\nFor those who can’t attend live these will each be recorded and posted on the Recordings Page\nFollowing the workshop\, participants will receive a link through which they can access a certificate of attendance.\n\nTune in to learn from Dr. Ruth Wilson as she shares about her inspiring book\, ‘Naturally Inclusive: Engaging Children of All Abilities Outdoors’.\n \n\nRuth has a doctorate in early childhood and elementary education and a master’s degree in special education. Dr. Wilson taught at the university level for over 14 years\, including ten years at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Professionally\, her primary areas of interest are early childhood environmental education and peace education. Much of Ruth’s work focuses on the holistic development of children\, with an emphasis on connections between body\, mind\, and spirit. She works as an educational consultant and curriculum writer with special expertise in the area of early childhood environmental education and other initiatives in connecting young children with nature. \nIn this book and workshop explore the great potential of connecting young children with special needs to the natural world. Naturally Inclusive is an essential guide for creating inclusive nature-based play spaces and programs that connect every child to nature. It reminds us that nature is both an exemplar of diversity and a catalyst for inclusion. \nDrawing on her knowledge of research and her decades of work with children in nature\, she weaves together advice\, real-life examples\, and testimonies from educators and families on the healing\, nurturing power of nature in the lives of young children with diverse abilities. \nAll registrants will be entered to win some great draw prizes! She has a BSc in Environmental Science and a Master’s degree in Elementary and Special Education. \n\nPassionate about integrating the outdoors and natural materials in core academic areas such as reading and math\, Rachel has authored the Wild Math® and Wild Reading® Curricula and the book Wild Learning: Practical Ideas for Bringing Teaching Outdoors. \nRachel will share tips\, tricks\, and strategies from Wild Learning: Practical Ideas for Bringing Teaching Outdoors. This book gives teachers practical activities they can immediately implement and helps educators overcome common barriers to outdoor instruction. These activities can be done in common outdoor spaces accessible to teachers in all school settings\, and they are adaptable to their current curriculum—not an extra thing to try to fit into their day. \nAll registrants will be entered to win some great draw prizes!
