This years’ experience will include: \nSC DHEC educator lesson demonstrations on Natural Resources\, Landfills\, Energy and Circular Economy with Battery Recycling plus more from the Action for a cleaner tomorrow curriculum. \nAll participants will start their day with a yogurt bar and receive a copy of the newly updated “Action for a cleaner tomorrow” curriculum supplement\, a Take Action SC Artic Stainless Steel Reusable Water Bottle\, a Take Action SC insulated reusuable bag\, a motherboard clipboard as well as other teacher prizes throughout the day. \nTake Action SC workshop admission will be a non-refundable $10 registration fee that includes all activities and classroom materials. \nClick HERE to register for this event. \nThis workshop will be held at Twin Chimneys Landfill at 11075 Augusta Road Honea Path\, SC 29654 \n

We will email you prior to the cleanup to verify the meeting location and attendance. \nKeep the Midlands Beautiful started the Spotless Service Saturday initiative to address highly littered areas with monthly cleanups hosted by our team! Cleanup locations rotate each month in the areas KMB serves – Richland County\, Lexington County\, the City of Columbia and the Town of Irmo. This event grew from a collaboration with the USC Service Saturday program.  All residents\, both individuals and groups\, are encouraged to join the KMB team and USC students in these monthly cleanups. \nThis is a great volunteer opportunity for teens\, parents\, and kids of appropriate age.  REGISTER HERE.

They will discuss the process of creating outdoor learning spaces\, from design and building to lesson implementation. \nPresenters will also share tips on how to get started\, how to find funding\, what design tools to use\, and how to successfully communicate with key staff in the district. \nResources and a recording of the webinar will be shared after the workshop with all registrants. \n\nWhen: Wednesday\, March 6\, 2024\, 4–6 p.m. EST.\nWhere: Online via Zoom. Her research investigates child injury prevention and children’s outdoor risky play with the aim of creating environments where all children can play outside every day. \nMegan Zeni is a mom of 3\, an experienced elementary school teacher\, and a master gardener. Megan successfully re-imagined the prep position in her public school and turned it into her dream job of spending her days with children in the garden classroom. Megan is an advocate for taking children outdoors at school in all kinds of weather to learn\, play\, and grow.
