DESCRIPTION:Outdoor Environmental Education Workshop\nby Shroud Water Research Center\nWednesday\, March 6th @ 4pm\nVirtual — Parents/Teachers\nNote: This is NOT a Cola City event. \nOutdoor learning spaces benefit water quality and wildlife habitat and provide meaningful outdoor learning opportunities for teachers and their K–12 students. \nIn this workshop\, participants will hear directly from elementary through high school educators who have created outdoor learning spaces at their schools\, and from Stroud Center education staff. They will discuss the process of creating outdoor learning spaces\, from design and building to lesson implementation. \nPresenters will also share tips on how to get started\, how to find funding\, what design tools to use\, and how to successfully communicate with key staff in the district. \nResources and a recording of the webinar will be shared after the workshop with all registrants. \n\nWhen: Wednesday\, March 6\, 2024\, 4–6 p.m. EST.\nWhere: Online via Zoom. The connection link will be emailed prior to the event\, and a recording of the webinar will be sent to participants.\nAudience: This online session is open to all audiences\, but it is especially supportive to homeschool providers\, classroom teachers\, and nonformal environmental educators. Two hours of Act 48 are available for Pennsylvania Certified Teachers. A certificate of participation will be provided upon request.\nCost: $10. Other stops include: Texas\, Ohio\, California and Missouri. \nNationally reknown speakers and workshop presenters will be there. Workshop tracks emphasize Homeschool 101\, Parenting\, Classical Education\, Charlotte Mason\, High School and Special Needs. Plus\, there’s Kids’ and Teens’ tracks and events. \nVendor hall has lots of great resources. Shopping only passes are available. FREE admission to the vendor hall on Thursday\, only.\nSign up to volunteer for a 4-hour shift and get free admission to the conference.

Together\, we’re not just cleaning up our neighborhoods – we’re transforming them into vibrant\, safe\, and healthy spaces where everyone can thrive. \nThrough programs like the Great American Cleanup\, an annual nationwide cleanup program initiated by Keep America Beautiful\, we can make a real difference in the movement to make our community a better place to live\, work\, and play. \nAlthough we encourage all of our volunteers to participate in cleanups throughout the program’s length\, March 19th – June 20th\, we are kicking off this year’s Great American Cleanup initiative with a litter cleanup around Midlands Technical College- Airport Campus to help encourage our community to come together to make a difference.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSign up for event here!
