Contact Battle of Aiken for more information and reservations.  \nSince 1995\, thousands of school children have traveled to the Battle of Aiken Park (1210 Powell Pond Rd. off 1-20 exit\, Aiken SC) for the annual School Field Trip Day held the Friday\, after President’s Day\, each February. Students go through a living history program that makes history come alive!\n\nAll public schools\, private schools\, and home schools are invited to attend this event which is appropriate for all ages. The educational program is believed to be the largest attended single day field trip in the state.\n\nThanks to our generous sponsors\, the field trip will have no costs to schools and is free of charge to students and teachers.\n\nAdmission: Free\nTime: Gates open at 8:30 A.M. and close at 3:00 P. M. Presentations begin at 9 A. M. There is no minimum or maximum time requirement. Most schools spend five hours at the site.\nWhen: Friday morning prior to the annual Battle of Aiken reenactment.\nFood: Students are welcome to bring box lunches. We had such a great time last time that we are going to do it again. Hosi has it all ready to go. We are really hoping that more kids will be able to join us this go round. It is open to 10 and up. The biggest thing is they will need a phone that can text because that is how they will be communicating during the game.\n–For those who are not familiar with how we play Among Us think of it as a scavenger hunt while playing tag. We will give them an envelope with their “tasks” and the one who is it will have something else.\n–The tasks will be clues that they have to figure out what and where it is.in the museum. We do stay within a certain area.\n–The museum is free as long as you bring proof of Homeschooling. (like a card or letter)\n–Little siblings can tag along but won’t be able to play. They can sell\, barter and trade with other homeschoolers. \nYou are invited to this biannual handicraft fair with local area homeschoolers. Come and enjoy a day at the park while participating or supporting our homeschooling students. There are walking and biking trails\, a play area\, picnic tables and many options for a day of nature study. \nThe Homeschool Handicraft Fair is a local event to inspire and cultivate the art of homemade handicrafts. It is an opportunity for children to display their craftsmanship and beauty and also an opportunity to sell their creations if they so desire. \nPlease keep in mind that those who are participating are also supporting other fellow families. We have observed in past fairs that pricing under $10.00 gives the children more opportunity to sell and barter. It also gives all those involved more opportunities to support and purchase. If your child/ren have items that they would like to price over this amount\, please help them understand that their work is valued and surely admired\, but it may limit their sales . \nAnyone is welcome to participate and invite friends and family to come and browse . There is no fee for participation. All items must be hand made by the children. Selling and bartering are welcome and optional. It is up to each child how they would like to display their handicrafts – some lay down a mat\, others come up with creative displays. Two winners from each grade will receive $200 and the chance to show their work at the nation’s annual CLEANPOWER 2024 conference in Minneapolis\, Minnesota May 5–8\, 2024 alongside the World KidWind Challenge. Winning artwork may also be curated at the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington D.C.\, where thousands of energy officials pass by daily. All work must be submitted through the online form linked below by 12pm CST March 22\, 2024.
