Contact Nature as Teacher for more information and parking pass reservations.  \nAll community centered organizations are invited to prepare thoughtful\, fun\, educational and exciting Trick-or-Treat Stations for our guests that walk the Trick-or-Treat Trail! Who do you think will win this year? \nTo help ensure everyone’s safety\, visitors enjoying the Trick-or-Treat Trail this year will be required to register for a free parking pass with specified arrival times. Get yours now and get your spot! \nWhat to bring/wear: This is a family friendly event. Come in costume (optional) and bring bags/buckets for collecting treats along the trail. The Trick-or-Treat-Trail loop is about a 10 minute walk on gravel and mulch with “spooky” animal learning stations along the way! Be sure to wear footwear appropriate for the outdoors. Strollers & wagons welcome. Please help children dress appropriately for the weather. \nPlease\, no bikes\, scooters or motorized vehicles on the trail. Dogs welcomed on leash. \nDirections: Be sure to print and display your parking pass receipt or have a screenshot ready on your phone. From Walmart in Camden head north on Springdale Drive\, toward the race track. Chestnut Ferry Road (a dirt road) crosses over Springdale drive at the bend. Turn left onto Chestnut Ferry road and continue down until you see our pinecone logo sign. Our driveway is the last on the left. After proceeding through our gate\, do not stop in the maintenance lot unless you do not have a parking pass or arrive outside of your identified time. Continue down our long driveway\, past the right turn\, and into the parking area. You will see our green and tan restroom building near the trailhead.

Please contact The Outdoor Learning Store for more information and registration: CLICK HERE \nThe Outdoor Learning Virtual Workshop Seasonal Series:\n \n\nRegistration is FREE and there will be plenty of draw prizes for attendees!\nAll registrants will receive a discount code to access outdoor learning resources when they register\nWorkshops are 60 minutes and will take place at 4pm Pacific / 7pm Eastern.\nFor those who can’t attend live these will each be recorded and posted on the Recordings Page\nFollowing the workshop\, participants will receive a link through which they can access a certificate of attendance.\n\nJoin Mariana and Megan as they share the ‘BE OUT’ digital tool. BE OUT is a new tool for elementary (K-7) school teachers and includes exemplars of outdoor learning from a diversity of teachers organized in a digital format. \nThe tool is designed with very short (90 second) modules and targets teachers new to teaching outdoors with support in four key areas: understanding risky play in the school context; getting started teaching outdoors; teaching with an emergent curriculum; and assessment of learning. \nDr. Mariana Brussoni is Director of the Human Early Learning Partnership and Professor at the University of British Columbia and BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute. Her research investigates child injury prevention and children’s outdoor risky play with the aim of creating environments where all children can play outside every day. \nMegan Zeni is a mom of 3\, an experienced elementary school teacher\, and a master gardener. Megan successfully re-imagined the prep position in her public school and turned it into her dream job of spending her days with children in the garden classroom. Megan is an advocate for taking children outdoors at school in all kinds of weather to learn\, play\, and grow. Megan is also a PhD candidate at UBC in curriculum & pedagogy. \nAll registrants will be entered to win some great draw prizes! Watch as brightly decorated boats parade by decked out for the season\, enjoy Christmas carols (have your phone or flashlight ready for “Silent Night”)\, and a fireworks finale. Pack your family\, friends\, and a picnic\, and join us on December 2 at Lake Murray! \n\nEvent details & Information:\n– Gates open at 4:30 PM and the Boat Parade will begin at 6:00 PM.\n– Gates will remain open until the park reaches a 300-vehicle capacity.
