DESCRIPTION:Battle of Aiken\nLiving  History  School Days 2026\nFebruary 20\, 8:30-3 pm\nFree — All ages\nNOTE: This is *not* a Cola City Event. Contact Battle of Aiken for more information and details. Pre-registration is recommended  \nField Trip \n \nSince 1995\, thousands of school children have traveled to the Battle of Aiken Park for the annual School Field Trip Day held the Friday\, after President’s Day\, each February. Students go through a living history program that makes history come alive! Over 75\,000 children have experienced the program. Today\, some of the past attendees are now parents and bring another generation of students to the program! Schools from across Georgia and South Carolina attend every year. All public schools\, private schools\, and home schools are invited to attend this event which is appropriate for all ages. The educational program is believed to be the largest attended single day field trip in the state.\nAdmission: Free\n\nTime: Gates open at 8:30 A.M. and close at 3:00 P. M. Presentations begin at 9 A. M. There is no minimum or maximum time requirement. Most schools spend five hours at the site. \nLocation: 1210 Powell Pond Road\, Aiken\, SC 29801\nWhen: Friday morning prior to the annual Battle of Aiken reenactment.\nFood: Students are welcome to bring box lunches. DESCRIPTION:Science Share Fair\nBy Cola City Common Ground Club\nWednesday\, May 7 at 12:30\nAll Ages — $5/space\nThis is a fun twist on Show and Tell. Rather than stand up in front of a group to do a one-off presentation. Participants will set up a table/presentation area for on-going short presentations/demonstrations in a “fair” format. Participants will have designated presentation time\, then also time to mingle as viewers/observers while others are presenting. \nIt’s a great chance to show off something that you have already learned in any topic of Science: Biology\, Chemistry\, Physics\, Earth Science\, Natural Sciences\, Astronomy\, Environmental Science.\nWe recommend projects that are hands-on\, interactive demonstrations or have samples\, hand-outs\, give-aways. You can do something that includes the scientific method\, if you want\, but it’s not required. \nAll participants will get a prize and certificate. There will not be judges to evaluate. This is a fun way to “tell others” something that you learned. You can do individual projects/presentations or buddy up with siblings or friends for your presentations. \nBring your presentation/project and your own table/display.
